Last year, my shifter cable broke...Now, it is screwed up again. The car will not start in park, and wont shift into 3rd, 2nd or 1st. It will start in Neutral, but I know it will mess it up if I continue to drive it this way. We are replacing the Cable again this weekend, but I am wondering if GMs parts are junk, or if the exhaust keeps messing up the shifter cable! Has anyone else had trouble like this?
Not sure how much of a warranty you get with parts like that, but if you get another one from Gm keep the receipts paperwork etc where it's easily accessible because if it goes bad within the warranty period whatever they give you it's going to be free of charge.
