i read somewhere long ago that there is a way to drop the transmition without having to pull the engine.....
I just finished the mechanical parts of my engine build, and was getting ready to start her for the first time this morning....
Got in the car, stepped on the clutch.... SLAM.... right to the floor... it did this at first, as soon as i hooked up the new slave cylinder... but after a few pumps it came right up. this time no luck... pump pump pump pump. no resistance at all.
pop the hood, and i am totally out of clutch fluid... it was full last night.... look under the car... huge puddle under the tranny... get underneath, and sure enough everything is perfectly dry except the inspection hole where fluid is steadily dripping out....
so it appears my brand new $155 special order autozone lifetime warranty slave cylinder died on me before she even got out of the garage.
i REALLLLLLLLLY dont want to pull my engine again.... (i just finished putting her back in)
so i was hoping there was a way i could do the clutch cylinder with the engine still in place.... there is just way too much stuff on my engine to want to mess with pulling it out again.
maybe check out the first couple posts

Yes you can do it,
The trick is is remove the torque strut at the bottom right side of the engine and then, with an engine crane allow the entire engine/transmission unit to lower so that the transmission can clear the stub of the sub-frame
you have to remove the brace that goes from the stub frame to the inner fender/wheel house
I took the transmission mounts completely out of the vehicle while the engine crane was supporting the engine/transmission unit
I used a come-a-along hung from the rafters of my garage to use the transmission up so that I could mate it back to the engine; I was working alone and it made the job a lot easier
It is a whole lot easier with two people
