will this work on a 2000 2.2l non ecotec with a 3 speed auto?
How exactly does it increase performance? By changing the rev-limiter/shift point? I'm considering one but I don't know how it works yet... kinda leery.
Suck, squish, bang, blow... muahahahaha!!
This is from Summit web page.
BMM-70380 GM: 1993-up rear wheel drive, 4WD, 4L6OE, 4L8OE transmission, ShiftPlus electronic shift improver
what I was wanting to know is they also have a different one now it is
BMM-70383 Buick/Cadillac/Chevrolet/Ford/Mazda/Oldsmobile/Pontiac: GM 4T60E, TH350, TH400 transmission; Ford C4, C6, A4LD...
I don't know if this new one was around when this topic was started back in 9-30-03.
do you think it is better to use the part # 70383 rather than #70380?
only been tested with the 70380, u want to use the other its up to you,all the shiftkit does is increase tranny line pressure, so the shift is harder and quicker period, there is no slipping of clutches when its on, makes the ride much more fun, silver this only works on the 4 speed electronic transmission
Its not how fast your car goes....its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.
I am going to get the 70383 today and I will let you all know how or if it works
Life is fun untill you have to go to work
Ok well I checked out the 70383 and it is for vacume controled transmissions
Hey all got mine in, and It is soo nice. Took it to the track last night, put down a 17.5 @78mph which is .4 better than my previous runs, the only difference is motor mounts, intake, and the b&m, and I had the spare in(last time I didnt)
Jon
I have a question, did you actually just splice into the wire lines or do you actually have to sever the connections and run it through the unit? and I see on TFM that there's different wires on 95-96 cars and 97+ cars, I have a 2001 so would I use the same wires as you did?
Yay, right when I spend $60 on mine.
I have a question, is there different wires I need to hook up to if the car is newer than a certain year? I have a 2001 Sunfire and mine didn't work when I hooked it up like the picture on this posting.
I have a 2.4L auto trans Gt and was wondering how the @!#$ plus works and if it will work on my car
thanks
Ok, back from the dead again. I'm having problems on the hook up. I used the wires in the pictures (light blue/white wire, and red/black right under the light blue one). When I go to take it for a test run, My overdrive won't shift. It stays in the same gear until about 65-70 then shifts. Also when shifting into reverse I had to really give it some gas to get it to go, then after I stop and shift into drive it really thumbs into gear. Not to mention the high pitch noise coming form my tranny. After I unhooked the shift plus, the noise went away and it drives just fine. I have an 02 eco w/4 speed auto, I've double checked the pictures with what I had and it the same.
Also to anybody that hooked their's up wrong (red/black wire next to or across from the light blue/white wire) what did your car do? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric
I think its only supposed to be for the 2.4L autos, and not the Ecotec.
And I say that in hope of someone coming on here and telling me I'm wrong.
Otherwise, the part works on the LD9 2.4L engine.
That and the other engines it says on the packaging.

um, if you read the original post by ME, this was installed on a 98 2.2L not a 2.4, just as long as the tranny is a 4 speed it will work, hooking to the wrong wires will screw crap up, and it does work on the 2k+ up cars, many people have told me so

Ok so how do I know if I have a bad shift plus then. But I don't think that's it, I know I hooked it up just the way you said (and showed). I'm just wondering if their could be a different wiring combo or something because it feels like I hooked it up to the reverse side instead of the drive side. And with looking at your pictures and my plug I don't see that combination of wire colors anywhere else on the plug. light blue/white, followed bye a red/black, with a yellow/black directly under the red /black wire. All I was wondering is what happens when their hooked up to the wrong red/black wire. No biggie though, I should be able to trace out the right wires when I get my service manual I just bought. But thanks for the help anyways.

Very true.
Yet folks are wanting to install in their 2.4, and 2.2 Ecotecs.
And there is no sticky for each individual car.
Now you or someone can come on here and post the links to those that have it installed.
Then make it a sticky.

If you read the post their's several post by eco owners saying that it worked on their car so far 03 or 04 cavi's and sf.
